Pain Management
If you live in the Atlanta area, suffer from pain and are regularly taking medications such as Roxicodone, Percocet or Vicodin, you may benefit from our safe, non-narcotic approach to pain management.
WellStep Atlanta utilizes a multifaceted approach to pain treatment. Narcotic medications are not prescribed. Where appropriate, buprenorphine (Suboxone) can often successfully be substituted for potent narcotic medications such as methadone, hydrocodone (Lortab, Norco, Vicodin), hydromorphone (Dilaudid), oxycodone (Percocet, Oxycontin, Roxicodone), fentanyl and morphine.
Many patients are pleasantly surprised how their pain is significantly relieved with Suboxone as opposed to needing to take large amounts of narcotic pills such as methadone or Percocet which may lose effectiveness over time, increase pain receptor sensitivity and require higher and higher doses.
Other non-narcotic medications that can reduce the overall sensation of pain and that work specifically on nerve sensitivity pain can be used as well. When appropriate patients will be referred to specialists for evaluation for surgery, injections, or other special procedures. Physical therapy may be prescribed as well. Counseling referrals can be make to help to reduce the stress and to improve pain coping skills if needed.
Our goal at WellStep Atlanta's pain management program is to help you achieve better control of your pain while maintaining a high quality of life.
WellStep Atlanta is convenient to the central and north Atlanta metro area, including Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Marietta, Acworth, Kennesaw, Canton, Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek and Duluth.
